Oh yep. After nearly two decades of consistant routine and ritual of going to meetings and Revival life it's hard to shake the neural pathways that have bored into place. This forum is the only thing that reminds me of that whole lifestyle now. Dunno why I persist with it actually... If it stops being fun I'll stop it. My dreams rarely go there anymore.

I used to have nuclear holocaust dreams (inclusive of RCI people) often both in and after leaving the RCI.  I think they eventually stopped about 2-3 years after I left.

No wonder really.  I don't know what the groups are like about nuclear war now, but in the 80s it was hardcore.  Even the young peoples meetings used to harp on about nuclear devastation and the effects from skin dripping off to nuclear winters and such.  Lovely shit for 14 year olds hey?  Anyone remember the movie made by Rob Harley from NZ?  He was a TV journo who was also an RCI pastor.  He has since left and last I heard took his church into a more mainstream AOG style.  Anyway, the movie scared the shit out of everyone.  They had us believing it would come any day.  23 years later and we're all ok.  Sick fucks.  FEAR, FEAR, FEAR!!!

Yes, I just mentioned those videos recently in another thread. Rob Harley made 3 short documentry prophesy videos plus a Healing documentry. I think I have in possession some very rare master copies of each.

I'm so over this whole RCI/RF rubbish I barely even come on here, just once in a while when there's not much to do at work... I live in London and have been outside of that cult for 7 years and yet just months ago I had this dream that pastor Lloyd was in my house in the kitchen with a butchers knife and was about to come and kill me. It's weird, but I was speaking in tongues as I ran down the stairs praying that the front door hadn't been double bolted and I could get out of the house quickly as he was chasing me. It was pretty scary but I did make it outside. Then I woke up and thought the same thing... will this never leave me.

Also had this dream a while ago about one of the girls who was in my Sunday school class and how her parents were keeping her prisoner in her own room and wouldn't even let her turn her light on ever. I broke into her house and got her out I just had the saddest ever feeling that I've had in a dream when I looked into her room and saw her lying on her bed... but she didn't know if she wanted to leave or just to wait there in her sadness.

Had heaps of dreams of Ps. Simon, some where he hates me and some where he is trying to get into my pants... the latter are really confusing. And most of the time I stand there in my dream with my head tilted thinking that something's not quite right with this picture.

I too have dreams occasionally since leaving about 6 years ago. The dreams can have all sorts of themes. Most prominent is findling myself in the midst again, but feeling out of place. I am not too bothered by them. Something that was so much a part of my existence for so long is bound to arise from time to time in my psyche. Don't allow it to have power over you. Just let it flow through you like watching a river...

things come along, pass by and fade away, its all inconsequential really!

A few months ago I had this dream/nightmare where i was in this type of market shop and I looked up and saw this church member and when she saw me it was like she couldn't get out of the shop quick enough. she gathered up her two children and ran out.  I can remember that in the dream I was quite calm about it all and felt like I was the sane one. This dream was so vivid but I wasn't worried about it

I had a really vivid dream on Saturday night, I dreamt I was camping at a rc camp. My tent was set up and other people were staying in there as well so I had no privacy and felt I couldn't pack up and leave. The tent was set up in the middle of rows and rows of military personal all sleeping in a swag that held 4 people all layered on top of the other. There were army helicopters, hercules craft, and helicopters similar to Elvis the one that is used for water dropping on fires. It was a hive of activity even though people were sleeping. The air craft were conducting periodic perimeter checks, so the enemy couldn't infiltrate. There were different seminars that were to be attended in designated auditoriums and you were told exactly where to sit. While one of the meetings was going on my partner and I skipped the meeting and while everyone else was at the meeting we quickly packed up and left.

So anyone want to psychoanalyze me or really it obviously speaks for it self!

i actually lived this one... i was lucky enough to be put out for 'about a month' on no serious grouds... i recommend to anyone who is given this ultimatum and doesn't want to go back, to just do it...

very interesting... a confirmation that you no longer belong here (ok, always a sad thing to no longer belong). really good closure (even better if you use your final time there to plant seeds of whatever you want... even just being really nice in order to exaggerate the injustice).

about the dreams, yeah, have had a couple since but didn't document them soon enough. i vaguely remember one which seems like the same old story: made it into a meeting (at some theatre), get escorted out by church members who also happen to be police.

im seeing recurrent 'law and order' themes: war, millitary, police

also, the 'exclusion' is notable...

kinda has this communist eastern-bloc feel to it... especially the dreams for a long time after 'the wall' has been knocked down.

that type of atmosphere stars in one of my ex-recurring dreams actually: heaps of people including me, packed onto crowded trains in some sort of armageddon situation. none of us knowing if we are being trafficked or trying to flee danger.

the nuclear holocaust stuff... how ridiculously evil... that is the stuff that really messed my head up. 11 year olds telling me all about it on a YR's camp... unbeleivable. no, i could not get to sleep easily for years afterwards... the sounds of planes over head.. everything... it was pending doom... the lord was coming back any second in a pool of blood... absolutely disgusting. i almost can't forgive that one. it still makes me very angry.

Re:dreams about church people

I've had nightmares since i left.  My Pastor still sends me messages so i changed my phone number about a week ago.  I told him if i wanted to talk i'd talk to him.  I'd hoped the silence that followed would convey a crystal clear message but it seems he is still as persistant as ever.  I don't ever want to see him again, i still have nightmares about his interrogation tactics and average around 3 nightmares per night.

I know or at least i hope in time that this will leave me, but for now it's a constant torment.

Btw whoever had dreams about Pastor Simon trying to get into their pants... my condolences, my nightmares generally consist of me being verbally abused and berated, being told to give up the few things in life that actually make me happy and so on and so forth.

I had a health problem for a number of years and i was called out into the back room and told by the Pastor that it was obviously because i wasn't eating properly.  He said the Lord heals but you have to do all that you can to help yourself.  This was particularly hurtful because his assumption that i don't eat properly was a baseless assertion and the fact that my health problem (which turned out to be uterine cancer and ovarian cysts) had been ongoing for 7 years probably should have indicated that it had nothing to do with poor diet.

Anyhow i hope in time that these dreams will cease, my partner who is not in the church and only attended a camp and a few meetings with me doesn't seem to understand why i wake in the middle of the night with a traumatised expression.
I wish i was where i used to be when i wanted to be what i am now.

I had just had a hugely traumatic day and off to bed I went zzzz...zzzz....zzz...
It was  a weird one the other night I was in a car with a child from preschool, while in the car we realized her father who had just gotten out of the car was the serial killer that was knocking people off in the community.
Some how we ended up speaking with the police and we were watching surveillance the killer had taken of a person I recognized, he, the serial killer  was confessing and he was admitting the person in the video was who he was about to go and  bump off that night. When I heard that I remember thinking what a shame he didnt get caught a day later!!!!

There were other bits and pieces tied into the story and sadly I could analyze the whole dream and see the relevance to the day I had just had.
I dont think I have issues- well maybe just a few!!!!
