Salvation in the beginning is such a joyfully wonderful experience, unlike anything we've seen or witnessed before. We are welcomed with open arms to this great family of the Lord. We soak up every word like thirsty plants after a morning dew. The world's beauty is enriched and we begin to see everything as if we are viewing it for the very first time. I remember the first time I opened the Bible the Words seemed to shine there light upon me and I read about the wonders of God and how the World was created. It has been almost a year since I left the assembly and I have not regrated it even for a moment. I had spent 18 years in the Word prior to being Saved and can honestly say that in those four years of being saved I have learnt a lot. I have learnt a lot about myself and have been introduced to a loving God who will always hold a place in my heart.

As Saints we were lead to believe that this world was corrupt and evil. It was a place were Sin ran rampant and that the origin of men's hearts were black. We heard Words from Pastors, Pastors with whom prided themselves on delivering the Solicited Word of God. A Word in which we were lead to believe was inspired by Gods Holy Word anointed to them by hours spent upon their knees praying in tongues. Preaching to us that these Words were true leading us to believe that we were the only ones in the World hearing them, for God did not dwell in any other place. We were the True Church, the only Church with an open Bible. Along with this inspired Word of God came stern rules seemly told to us for our own protection.

How quickly your eyes open to the people around you when you spend three times a week in their company and even more so weeks at a time at Camps. Those welcoming Saints with whom we were first introduced in the beginning shed their layers quicker then I ever imagined. We were told to beware of Wolfs in Sheep's clothing who knew they were within the fold. In the four years that I was saved I saw people behave in a manner I had never witnessed, even in the 18 years I spent in the World. I can not begin to understand how people supposedly walking in the love of God could treat one another with such disrespect, unholiness and in such an in hostile manner. Were we all not lead to believe that we were Gods Children and there for Brothers and Sisters in Christ. Righteous in the sight of God, all chosen for a purpose, all equal in Gods eyes. Explain to me why before/during and after meetings there was scoffing and mocking and whispering and ridicule of one another. Saints with Brotherly kindness spreading falsehoods and slandering others with there opinions not only behind backs but to the faces of those around.  Pastors with whom had been intrusted to care for the souls of Gods Children showing fruits of their flesh, pig headedness and pride. The Blind leading the Blind.

I believe God and his Holy Word and if that was preached and that alone I would be happy to dwell in a loving Assembly. But as God has made it aware to us, he does not dwell in such a place as where we were attending, with all its lies and corruption.

‘'Wherefore come out from among them and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing, and I will receive you.''

It is unfortunate but we are all human and even the scripture says "where there is ox in the stall" ...............

In other words where there are a bunch of people there will be a mess in some form or other.

You are right however backbiting, slander gossip is not Gods plan or way.

Its by this shall all men know that you  are my disiples, if yo have love for one another, if we truly practiced this then these things would not be.

I hope and pray that your journey from here is one of discovery of everything that God has in store for you, dont be afraid to ask questions of people if you are going to another or looking at other churches, most you will find are quite open and welcoming.

God Bless

 Hi guest,

Just to put your words into context, which kind of revivalist assembly did you attend for the 4 years, and what opened your eyes to the errors of their ways?  You mentioned a lot of ungodly behaviour.  Was it this that turned you off?

You say you were 'saved' for four years.  Am I to assume you now don't believe you are saved?

Just wondering what revivalist luggage you might possibly have 'hanging over' from your experiences there!

Good to hear your stuff anyway.  Welcome!

Dog.

I attended an assembly in Tasmania affiliated with the Geelong Revival Centre. It was the ungodly ways/Rules and Man made Doctrine that made me consider the path I was on. Praying to God lead me to Scriptures where God spoke of the Lusts of the Flesh and I know that we are all of the Flesh. And its only by God that we can subdue the Flesh and walk in the Spirit. However I saw that in my four years of attending a LARGE portion of the Assembly walking in their Flesh and living with out Love for one another. It was not at all a welcoming environment. Pastors with open Bibles telling more of their own opinions and Life Stories than what was Scriptual. Laying down their interpretaions and Falsehoods.
I do believe that I am Saved, however being Saved has a different interpretation within the Church and they would have us believe we can not be Saved without their Law and Doctrines and weekly meetings. So I referred to ''Saved in that manner''. The Falsehoods of the meaning.
