Good morning, all.

Enclosed is a link to a discussion about a subject which I've often considered: the question of which is the best way to prepare men and women for pastoral leadership in local churches? It is 'academic' preparation through higher education, or 'practical' preparation within the context of the local church? As someone who teaches at both levels, I'm all-too-aware of the strengths and weaknesses inherent in the two positions, and of the prejudices held by supporters on either side.

My personal position is this: I think it all boils down to working out what one is trying to achieve. Anyway, here's the link for the sake of general interest and edification.
