Testimony in short:

I was raised with a kind of christian belief and experienced how God answered prayer in my childhood. I was also taught not to join a cult and to be aware of my decisions.

My childhood desire was to become pilot or programmer. During and after my a-level anyway I got into the anarchistic and punk-scene and experimented with different drugs. I became confused, unable and unmotivated to live a normal life and work towards a carreer. After the wall had come down it also was barely possible to get an apprenticeship as a pilot.

From time to time I got the thought that there must be an abstract "truth" and if I was ready for it. I was alway attracted but did not consider myself ready for it. But I was growing towards it and around the time I saw myself ready - in 1993 - , I got to know a RCI/CAE- Group in Berlin. I experienced miracles of healing, divine leading and sensible answers from the Bible to many questions. After some months of consideration I got saved!

People helped me to get a normal life, go to work and respond to God´s plan for my life by denying myself and hunger for His guidance - I´m extremely thankful for that!!

I got an apprenticeship as computer science assistant and my cousin had to make me aware of tha fact that I was now doing one of the things I always wanted to! (I had not noticed it because of my focus to deny myself).

After 6 years I got thrown out of the group - one pastor thought that I had made fun of him. As this was not true I found it ridiculous and though the Lord would show the overseer what is going on here. But he rather confirmed the decision of the pastor!

I still followed God when I was sure that He was speaking and so I moved to another city and joined a certain church after some years. I learned more about the grace and the loving father´s heart of God, prophecy, and also about deliverance and not to put up with attacs - if by people (religious or not) or demons.

My heart was always responding when coming across an airport and I gave the topic into God´s hands from time to time. Anyway I said I needed His clear speaking before I could go into that direction with a clear conscience because my life is not my own but His!

He showed that I shoud go to a bible school. As I had made good experiences after obeying God in the past, I decided to go - although I was not sure what it should help me. During the last preparations I was annoyed and asked God several times what it should be god for at all. I always saw a picture of a plane - often from different perspectives.

As I didn´t know the plane, I asked God if it was from Him at all, and - if yes - what He wanted to say to me. Than a lady from my church gave me a magazine from Wycliff-Bible-translators. On the backside was a picture of exact that plane that I had seen several times in prayer!

The organisation requires every employee to have at least one year of bible school experience! So now it way clear that God - upon my obedience - led me to something that I always wanted deep in my heart! (Ps37:4).

The bible school time was blessed financially so that I had exactly 4.48 € on my account when I left, and I could come back to my previous job in a software company afterwards.

In July 2007 I joined an aviation club and started to train for my pilot license! There are also some christians in the club and we have good and uplifting conversation - church as it should be! God has helped me to concentrate much better on the training that back then and is also teaching me responsibility during the training.

Great to know that God loves us and had a plan for our life that always exceeds our expectations! We need to trust and obey!
And of course He is not bound to a certain church. Proud church people will always err - because God has to resist them, but grace is always there for the humble - those who depend on God! I love Him!!!

O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: because his mercy endureth for ever (Ps118:1).

Hi Guest

Thanks for sharing your story with us! You are quite right - God certainly does have a plan and purpose for each of our lives (although sometimes it takes us a little while to discover it). I love hearing stories of people who have moved on from the cultish revival groups and have come to a place (spiritually) of relationship with God. Unfortunately, so many people hold on to bitterness or resentment against these groups and that prevents them from moving forward. It's great to know that you're allowing God to lead you into His desire for your life.

I attended the RCI which then became RF for 24 years and left only about 18 months ago. I came to the realisation that I had no real relationship with Jesus Christ, and after much prayer and humbling myself, my life has totally turned around.  I now attend a great church where grace and love abounds and I have a beautiful on-going relationship with my heavenly Father.

We watched a short dvd at church last week and it showed a small yellow plane being used for mission trips in the 1960's and the stories of the pilots who dedicated their lives to flying missionaries to remote areas - it was awesome!

I know that God will use you for great things and I will keep you in my prayers.

God bless,

Urchin

Oopsie, sorry I forgot to log in - that was me, urchin!
Your unfailing love, O Lord, is as vast as the heavens; your faithfulness reaches beyond the clouds. Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains, your justice like the ocean depths.

Great! Thank you very much for prayer, Urchin!

I had it somewhat easier because I already knew that God must exist - so I was able to sort out to some extent what was true and what I could really believe. So afterwards I just asked God to take care of me and He did it and showed me again and again that He was with me! I was somehow surprised how this works together, but if God proves His love and forgiveness again and again, at some point you stop doubting it..
