Many years ago I went to the Adelaide Revival Centre, and I thank them that they introduced me to God, (everything I have learned about God came after I left the ARC). But I HAD to be baptized, so I was. But it was just a bath, because I was doing it for the church, because you HAD to be baptized.
Many years later, when attending another church, I was thinking about the baptism, and after a few weeks of thinking about it, I went to the pastors of the church and told them I wanted to be baptized. (No I didn't ask, it wasn't an option).
This time I got baptized for God, because he requests us to do it, and I was in a position to obay that request.
It is amazing how good you feel when you eventially get to do something right.
