Hello all,

Here is a question.  If Simon Longfield decided that all ex-members were now welcome to rejoin RCI because they changed their mind on forgiveness of sin, would you return to the fold?  Or what else would you need to happen before you would go back if at all?  What would it take to turn RCI around?

Best Regards

Misterkilometres.

Q. would I go back?    When hell freezes over! Now to me going back would be like the scripture a dog returning to it's vomit. (that's a reversal never thought I would see it that way!)
Q. what would it take for RCI to turn around? Personally, the Filth goes to the very foundation of the church. I believe it's a weed that should be up rooted and those that are the Lords fellowship somewhere that reflects Christ not the Militant and manipulative control. Total Dispersion, no more break away seedlings that end up a version of the tree they sprang from.

Although if there were no more GRC RF RCI etc etc....whatever would we talk about?  Might have to get me a life!!!!!

lol lol lol lol lol lol, the forgivness doctrine is such a non event compared to all the other things inherently wrong with this group, that to return if they change there mind on that is insane.

they would have to change absolutly everything, starting with there salvation doctrine just for starters, love and accept the greater body of Christ become part of it not a cancer within it

Totally agree; it is like a dog going back to it's own vomit.

Just imagine after so many years of being free returning to

Progressive Suppers

Young Peoples talks

Sports Nights in dull school halls

Team meetings

If the doctrine wasn't depressing enough the lifestyle sure was! I was doing the same damn thing (the above) for 10 years... 10 years later and they are still doing it! GET A LIFE RCI! It's like they are stuck in the 50's along with Lloyd Longfiend and his dementia. It's like that movie, The Village.

There are so many good Churches around that it would be ridiculous to waste time at such an unholy place as RCI.

The best thing for RCI to redeem itself would be to hand over it's "flock" (or prisoners) to a REAL Church and the jail wardens should "step down".

P.S God gives me a clean slate, not f*&king RCI!

(ok, sorry, phew, I'll just calm down now... they just p*ss me off so much!)

You must be kidding. SL wont be changing that policy any time soon. But if he did I would not go back. I left (wasn't kicked out) but even so the policy is simply a manifestation of a more deep seeded judgemental attitude held by the Revival Centre.

Even if the policy were gone the underlying belief would still be present.

Even if the policy were gone the underlying belief would still be present.

This is such a true statement, it sum's up the RC's so well. You find you have a belief system that has been placed by not what they say but what they don't say. eg I never heard any one say "We are the only true church" I heard them say "There may be others but we have never found any"
SEEK AND YOU WILL FIND...DONT LOOK AND YOU WONT FIND.  DUH!!!
There are so many examples of this suggestive influence, my biggest reality shock was finding my child crying "I dont want to loose my salvation" because we had made the decision it was time to walk away.
Thank God he is gracious and can restore the damage unknowingly inflicted but he will also be vengeful on those that have harmed his little ones and perverted his word for their own self pride and gain.

Culty is back, been away for a year.

Good to see Mothy and others still around.

Hang in there guys, somethings a brewing, see the article in The Age?

There will be more to come for sure.

Something BIG is going down (and it may well be SL himself if certain pastors have their way)! Certainly we have not heard the last of this story...

Nope I wouldn't go back to that Egypt of bondage and servitude to legalism..

As far as the "policy" on immorality goes.. The story that I have somehow pieced together so far is that the "policy" was a pretext to reported immoral event that happened with one of Kuhlman's associates. Longfield senior had asked Kuhlman to address the immoral Pastor and Kuhlman refused and so the schism began.. From the picture I presume is that Kuhlman engineered the whole division to his own likeing..

And after all these years of a long fruitful journey away from the cult, I can only ask: "Why go back ??"  Both the RCI and RF are now little insignificant groups.

To Cultevasion... I am not a Victorian so I don't get to see the Age so can you disclose the article from the Age for our amusement please

Thanks

I was only in the rci for 5 years before i left.

I noticed a difference between those raised in the church and those who were not.

I was just curious how many of you guys were raised in the church and how many joined as adults?

I would like to have a poll but i don't know how it operates.
