$%*'`[Biggirl]%*'`@This is a wierd issue, actually. How did we stay happy, when we were so controlled? Looking back on my time there, I didn't like the constant meetings, the compulsory youngies, compulsory camps, standing on the street outreaching etc. But I sincerely believed that it was right to do, and that my feelings were wrong and were only my natural flesh which was 'warring against the spirit'. Alot of the joy was at the end of the meeting , or camp, or outreach when you could go home!!!!I would look at the world around me, think it would all end soon, so whats the point anyway.I was giving up on beach , tennis, the pleasure of spending time with my family etc, but in the big scheme of things, eternity was longer. Now I'm so happy because you can be a christian, but also live to the full. Don't give up sport. If you already go to 3 meetings a week, don't do the 4th or 5th, go out and mix with people , doing something you enjoy.I think the biggest mistake to fall for, was the belief that doing the meetings and activities, was putting God first, which I wanted to do. However I now realize the difference between serving God, and serving the organization. My priorities now are, God, family, work, church .... People in there are scared to leave. Your first thought might be that something bad will happen to your children if you leave. Guess what? Our kids have been mightily blessed since leaving. You might be afraid that if you don't go somewhere that preaches that you have to speak in tongues to be saved , you are going against God. Wrong. If your church speaks in tongues, but does damage in other ways, thats wrong. Its not your problem if you can't find a perfect church to go to. If you're miserable in there, leave. God will find somewhere for you to go. You can still tell people about your experience with the holy spirit and how it made an impact on your life, if they have ears , they'll hear. You don't have to bash them anymore.I now just sit baack and learn from these churches all the stuff I missed out on in RF! Well, thats my thoughts, I just really feel for people in there who are scared to leave. If you're shunned , as you probably will be, hang in there. Move on, find a church, join a sport club, or a craft club. Start interacting with humanity again. People out here are great, and alot are genuinely loving and happy. They're all not lost and miserable. Keep your faith and share it naturally if you feel inclined..

..."But I sincerely believed that it was right to do" Thats why I was caught and so many others got trapped there for an average of about 16 yrs+or- (statistics from a removed poll). Deep down inside we all want to "do the right thing" and they (the RCs Oversight) cleverly play on that human trait to exploit us! Well they aint ruining my life any more, no way.

Exposed they need to be and the truth needs to come out. We are lovers of righteousness and the RCs are controlled by devilish influences I believe.

hang on, im confused. neva have i encountered such problems as u have in the rf. i play a huge amount of sport, i play in bands of my choice wateva type of music. im involved in many things outside of the revival fellowship. not once hav i eva been looked down upon for any of this. its normal.

i go to the meetings on sunday and to the housemeetings. youngpeoples activities are so good  i couldnt think of any other things to do. the rf is just a big family  wanting to help each other. not condemn each other. i feel very comfortable is the presence of my brothers and sisters in the fellowship. i could neva ask for a more blessed and happy life here on earth while i wait for the lords return.

so i dont realy understand how u felt that way.

I'm sure all those things are true for you. Have a great time and enjoy your life and walk in the ways of your lord until the time he comes to return for you.

As long as you're happy, healthy and enjoying your fellowship with whatever meter of control you're comfortable with.

wow hihat you sure have it good!! Are you sure it`s rf you are In?!    I can`t speak for rf (only from friends I had in it)  but I know for a fact in the rci cult I suffered for 20 years  all of us were  told we couldn`t be in `worldly` bands or even play music where alcohol was served by our gastapo leader. My goodness we may have been a `bad testimony` and we were always had `avoid the appearance of all evil shoved down our necks at every opportunity.   .` Yeah music playing is sure evil....- yeah right...... Pathetic stuff.  Maybe you haven`t been there long??

Wait to you have a disagreement or you get involved with some discipline matter then their true lack of spiritual discernment is revealed. It took 16 years for this to happen in my case.
