Hello, Jingles.

According to Scripture, the "bride" is Israel/Church. OT passages that metaphorically refer to Israel as God's "bride" (e.g. notably in the later chapters of Isaiah) underpin the NT use with respect to the Church being Christ's "bride" (e.g. in the later chapters of Revelation). Both the object(s) and the subject(s) appear interchangeable; hence there is apparently both continuity and discontinuity in the application of the metaphor.

Blessings,

Ian
