Re:Townsville RCI report discussed with Simon Longfield Date Posted:08/06/2009 12:03 PMCopy HTML Hiya, "Unk".
I was emailed the very same documents earlier today, from the source that forwarded them to you. Is it just me, or is the RCI "roundabout" getting decidedly weirder as the year progresses? Blessings, Ian email: didaktikon@gmail.com

Re:Townsville RCI report discussed with Simon Longfield Date Posted:10/06/2009 1:40 AMCopy HTML I have just read every word of these documents and I know there are three sides to every story (he said, they said and the truth somewhere in between). But even taking that into consideration every revivalist should read this, I knew some of the folk personally in this report (and had many a wonderful time of fellowship with them back in the 90s in Melbourne). How they were allowed to be so disgracefully treated and persecuted is beyond comprehension, I can be a hard unemotional bloke at times but even this sickened me to the core and caused a tear at the attitude and treatment by the so called Shepard’s who are meant to care for the Lords flock, Still with this coming out and Glenn’s deceptive criminal actions and the way the Shepherds have treated those folk along with Simon and Victors involvement I suppose the lord has all things in hand and is dealing appropriately with those that claim to be so righteous and “doing it the only right way”.(Judah didn't get away with it either according to the old Testament ). |

These sort of comments bug me a bit. Folk suppose all sorts of things. I see no evidence of an active God in this or other situations. But as soon as there is any sign of 'poetic justice' or evil being derailed, Christians come up with this "the Lords hand is here" nonsense! Really, it is pretty selective thinking. Reality is.... SHIT HAPPENS and good stuff happens too. What proportion of each happens to fall upon any individual, group or whatever has bugger all to do with God's hand or his supposed opinion about the matter. About time folk stopped playing silly games, pretending they've got a "great big wonderful God" pulling strings. Dog. "for there is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so" Shakespeare (Hamlet, Act 2, Scene 2)

Re:Townsville RCI report discussed with Simon Longfield Date Posted:10/06/2009 4:37 AMCopy HTML Hi, Dog.
I suppose the difference in outlook is due to a difference in perspective: between those who believe and trust in a personal God, and those who don't. As you said, "crap happens". True. However, the fact that good stuff also happens in spite of the crap, is sure evidence to me that God is. Blessings, Ian email: didaktikon@gmail.com

Re:Townsville RCI report discussed with Simon Longfield Date Posted:11/06/2009 11:22 AMCopy HTML No suprises there really. Since when have RCI pastors had any connection with actual reality? Simon's responses are about as Stepford like as I would expect from any "oversight". Even 15 years out of this hideous cult that word still freaks me out.
When will the people in the assemblies finally work out the oversight could care less about them. They care about maintaining the organisational structure. The longer these oversight have been around the less soul they actually have left. The place sucks it out of them over times. The Reeves should thank the Lord they were put out. This should have made it clear to them what their value really was. |

Re:Townsville RCI report discussed with Simon Longfield Date Posted:11/06/2009 11:23 PMCopy HTML Hello "Im_out",
The reeves are still out, and from the conversation I had with thier son the other week, they will not be returning. As with all people thrown out of RCI, things just get better once the initial shock is over and done with, and then better and more meaningfull relationships can recurr ;) Best regards, |

Re:Townsville RCI report discussed with Simon Longfield Date Posted:12/06/2009 2:04 AMCopy HTML Thanks for the reply Mr K, I'm really happy for them and I truly hope they find the peace we all have after getting out. Unfortunately in revival land, one can quite easily brush over all the rubbish and deception going on, simply because you are too scared to take a peak out side. This mostly due to connections with family and close friends and the fear of being ostracised by them. This is also due to the put down you hear of every other church. You are told everyone else is wrong and WE are doing it the only way, they have picked the other churches to bits yet fail to address their own short comings. As a result one becomes isolated and happy living in a safe little rci bubble of Revival land, with friends and family all protected from the big scary church world outside. though (who will protect you and your family being treated as disgracefully as we have seen by the so called shepherds put in-charge to watch over you). I recon the folk out side the church treat each other with more respect dignity and compassion !!!! In my new church I have never seen such love compassion, understanding and patience shown to the flock by our Pastors, its incredible. Sadly for many (including ourselves) until something personally effects them (us), only then do the rci scales start to fall from ones eyes and normal rational thinking resumes. The contact is then made to friends who have made the break and to seek guidance, (I did, it was best thing as well as it led me to a wonderful place of worship).
