problems i have found 1. Filled with the holy ghost with speaking in tounges as evidence or in other words tounges as salvation 2. praying for the spirrit by saying halleluiah over and over again doesn't match up with how people received the holy spirit in the bible 3. the operation of the gifts seems like a load of rubbish at time and not of god but peoples own thoughts 4. the lack of love and caring 5. and as soon as you leave or put put people ex communicate you? its just weird now i would love any advice or scriptures on the above problems i have raised. now i know im not perfect, but im just pointing out some issues im still dealing with. |

Re:Problems with the Revival? Date Posted:04/09/2012 12:02 PMCopy HTML Yeah Kurt a lot of those reasons you give are exactly why it is a cult and not a christian or Christ like church or organisation. The lack of love and caring is incredibly obvious once you have been out for a while in the real world and see that there are so called `non christians` by revival standard showing more love tolerance and compassion than many of the people leading and co-leading this sad organisation. Life is just so much better out of that dreadful oppressive culture...... All the best.

Re:Problems with the Revival? Date Posted:05/09/2012 7:57 AMCopy HTML Hello, Kurt.
okay im sure this has already been talked about a million times and i doubt many people lurk these forums anymore but if people do and are from revival feel free to add your 2 cents worth. First, all of the points that you raised have been dealt with many times in the various threads of this forum. So if you ever find yourself with a few hours spare, you might enjoy browsing, reading and reflecting. Second, the forum receives hundreds of visits per week, so it seems your doubts vis 'lurkers' might be unfounded. problems i have found 1. Filled with the holy ghost with speaking in tounges as evidence or in other words tounges as salvation. That's it in a nutshell. Try as some Revivalists will to dismiss the inference, it really is, for them, a case of 'salvation by tongues'. 2. praying for the spirrit by saying halleluiah over and over again doesn't match up with how people received the holy spirit in the bible. Indeed. The Bible is almost completely silent on the fact of receiving God's Spirit; it's largely assumed as a 'given' to those who've repented by putting their faith in Christ. Of course Scripture is completely silent on the supposed need to give God a helping-hand by warming up the vocal chords! I can't find any biblical basis justifying why a completely natural practice is necessarily required to achieved what is a supposedly supernatural experience ;) 3. the operation of the gifts seems like a load of rubbish at time and not of god but peoples own thoughts. That's because there is absolutely nothing spiritual taking place. The 'tongues' are bogus; the 'interpretations' are bogus; the 'prophecies' are bogus. 4. the lack of love and caring. Shhh. Some people who flit in here from time-to-time reckon you can't link the bad fruit to the rotten root. 5. and as soon as you leave or put put people ex communicate you? its just weird. And completely unscriptural. now i would love any advice or scriptures on the above problems i have raised. I would recommend you browse through the threads. It's all there, and it saves people like me having to cover the same ground every time a 'newbie' pops in. now i know im not perfect, but im just pointing out some issues im still dealing with. Bravo for dealing with the issues at all! Many people, sadly, don't :( Blessings, Ian email: didaktikon@gmail.com
