Some one once told me the best form of revenge is too live a good life, (that was on seinfield) even if the life you had, has been taken and trodden on by religious fanatics.I was very hurt by the GRC, by hollins and his henchmen and my family.  One thing i will say... my integrity is sound and the only lies i have heard, have come from hollins and his cronnies. When he dies and he will, as we all will, someone will step up and fill the void, as long as there are vulnerable people there will be predators. So what do we do??I am still in contact with people who attend, but my days of hammering people who attend to see the "folly of their way" are over.  I hear the stories they relate (even the word says there is nothing new under the sun) are no different from when i was apart of this. The bible (which i now see as a work of fiction) says "they shall been known by their deeds" and hollins and the grc are definately known by those deeds, as i said to the government when fighting for my kids "Today Tonight, A Current Affair, they are not coming through my door with cameras asking questions of me" but they have done that to hollins and the grc.  Thankfully i have my kids back even if they still go to sunday school and spend half their time with their mother (who is a fanatic) by my kids will grow up and see this place for what it is (if i have anything to do with it)I am sure there will be detractors to what i say, people who say YOU left GOD when you left the grc.....  What arrogance that is, i remember nice people in the assembly who wasted away of cancer in that place while hollins sat on the sidelines sprouting something about a "spiritual lack" on their part to see the victory, while he was supposedly running to the usa to treat his parkinsons.  Anyway to conclude.I am so much better off today than i was living a lie in the grc, so after costing me a marriage, full access to my children and a lot of heartache.  Still i stand, and will continue to do so with integrity.Name withheld for the sake of my kids.

Hello, Guest.

Sadly your story is an all too familiar and common one, and I hope that you're now in a much better place personally. But can I ask, what caused you to view Scripture as a work of fiction?

Blessings,

Ian

Dont understand it, if you think the bible is fictional, why quote it?

Ok maybe i will answer the second question first....

"if you disregard the bible why quote it"

it's a fair question... Of all the words in the bible there are some truths such as in proverbs and this is not verbatim "better to dwell in the corner of a housetop than be in a wide house with a brawling women" i'm not sure if you have been married but i have and i can only concur with that statement.  Trivial to the broader point of my disregard to god.  To answer the first question...

I see the bible as a book of fiction because it offers us everything (why i was swept up in it) and delivers nothing...

The bible offers so much and delivers nothing.  Elijah said to whoever it was "maybe your god is on a journey and cannot hear your prayers, then he went on to swallow up all the water all the everything and (what he said were false prophets) "let the god that answers by fire let him be god"

When i challenged hollins on the issue of healing (i am not gerardi, and cannot quote verse and chapter)  I put to him the scripture that says " whatsoever YOU ask in prayer believing you shall receive you shall recieve it"

When i put to hollins "where is your faith to believe to healing"

So the word says whatsoever YOU (not the person suffering the affliction) believe you shall recieve you shall recieve it.  Shall i go on...

Lazarus was dead, so who's faith raised him??
Hollins says "you have a spiritual lack that is why you cannot see the victory"

I want god to come down and show me i'm wrong, i have thrown out the fleece but alas no responce.

Thats why i see it as a work of fiction.

Hello, Guest.

I see the bible as a book of fiction because it offers us everything (why i was swept up in it) and delivers nothing... I would've thought that for a written work to qualify as fiction, it needed to deal primarily with that which is imaginary. In other words, with people, events, and things which aren't factual. Personally, I simply don't see such a definition applying to the Christian Bible. I also think you've completely misunderstood what the Bible actually offers us. It isn't "everything" as you've claimed, but the one important thing: the way to make, and find, peace with God.

I carefully read and then re-read your post several times. Being a former GRC-er, you've been raised on the spiritual equivalent of a junk food diet, one which is neither nourishing, wholesome nor satisfying. You might like to consider that simply because Noel told you that you were eating spiritual prime rib, doesn't mean that you were actually eating spiritual prime rib ;)

Sadly, you've uncritically concluded that Scripture is fictional because you've failed to grasp the Bible's central message, given that you've failed to properly understand the parts. The faulty reasoning that led to your incorrect conclusion is the same faulty reasoning that a Tuareg in the Sahara might use to determine that there's no such thing as cold, fluffy white water that falls from the sky (i.e. 'snow'). A lack of personal experience and familiarity with a subject doesn't mean that the subject is necessarily, or automatically, wrong. Similarly your failure to understand the fact of Scripture doesn't mean that it's fiction.

God bless,

Ian

Guest,

SOUNDS LIKE YOU HAVE A DIRECT LINE TO THIS FICTIONAL CHARACTER. COULD YOU ASK HIM TO SHOW HIMSELF TO ME ALSO. Well, he isn't exactly hiding, you know. If you were to try opening your eyes and your mind, you might be surprised with what results ;)

Ian (and i never knew an ian in the grc,did you ever attend??) you are exactly what they are looking for. Your baseless words with nothing to back it up with but warm fuzzy feelings which you proport to be evidence of god, Maybe you should have prayed harder for frank pullen but i guess (like so many others) you swallowed hollins lies.

Before you try to justify yourself, i am happy you believe in god, i want some tangibles not just empty words so again i say, you speak like you have some inside running with god (just like the apostle said he had) "show me the money"

I have a lot to say maybe i will soon

I am so tired of people speaking from some point of knowledge with nothing to back it up.

I am sure you will try to justify your position.

As i said to hollins i say to you "where is your faith"

"whatsoever you believe in prayer you shall receive it"

When did you last pray for someone (maybe frank debooy, who is a quad) and who is still in a wheelchair (no miracles there)

you propogate the myth that is god, and if i was such an emeny he would have me removed but here i am.

enjoy the delusion

Guest,

Ian (and i never knew an ian in the grc,did you ever attend??) you are exactly what they are looking for. First, I was RCI not GRC. Second, I'm certainly not what Noel is looking for. If you doubt this assertion of mine, please, go ahead and ask Noel yourself :) Your baseless words with nothing to back it up with but warm fuzzy feelings which you proport to be evidence of god. Is that what you think? Would you mind telling me just how it was that you reached such a bizzarre conclusion? Maybe you should have prayed harder for frank pullen but i guess (like so many others) you swallowed hollins lies. Sorry, but you clearly have me confused with somebody else, as I never met the Pullen chap.

Before you try to justify yourself, i am happy you believe in god, i want some tangibles not just empty words so again i say, you speak like you have some inside running with god (just like the apostle said he had) "show me the money". I think I can do much better than that ;)

I have a lot to say maybe i will soon ... I am so tired of people speaking from some point of knowledge with nothing to back it up. Me too. That's why I'm active here.

I am sure you will try to justify your position. As i said to hollins i say to you "where is your faith" ... "whatsoever you believe in prayer you shall receive it". Sorry, but I just don't think you've grappled with the ramifications and implications of Jesus' words. When did you last pray for someone (maybe frank debooy, who is a quad) and who is still in a wheelchair (no miracles there). No quadriplegics, sorry. Would a late stage, terminally ill cancer patient do? you propogate the myth that is god, and if i was such an emeny he would have me removed but here i am. Ah, clearly you don't understand God.

enjoy the delusion. Sorry but I can't. I derive no satisfaction whatsoever when I encounter deluded people. But do I feel for you? Yes, of course. However it's pity rather than 'enjoyment' :(

So you say you have healed people?

You make me sick

If you had any "real power" you would be well known.

Try going to the Andrew Love Centre and heal a few more.

At least hollins said "we are the only true church on earth" everyone else are "false prophets and liars"

You would embrace everyone.

Send god to me (he knows my address) If he turns up i will be more than happy to bend the knee.

Guest,

So you say you have healed people? You make me sick. If you had any "real power" you would be well known. Try going to the Andrew Love Centre and heal a few more. First, 'no', I didn't claim to having healed anyone. I was, however, part of a small group of Christians who exercised faith through prayer in a situation where God healed a young lady suffering terminal cancer. No theatrics, no unbiblical claims, no unbiblical Revivalist 'prayer lines' with unbiblical Revivalist 'tongues', simply a favourable and proven outcome. Ergo, if you're feeling as sick as you've claimed, then I'd suggest that you call upon the elders of an orthodox Christian church in your area, ask them to visit you, anoint you with oil, hear you confess your sins, and then pray the prayer of faith over you. Men and women of this stripe tend towards leaving the miraculous up to God, given that such is his business and not ours ;)

At least hollins said "we are the only true church on earth" everyone else are "false prophets and liars". 'Yes', and we know how that's played out in practice, don't we? :) You would embrace everyone. And why wouldn't I when Christ did? Send god to me (he knows my address) If he turns up i will be more than happy to bend the knee. I see. Yours is a 'faith' that walks by sight. Interesting twist on the theme.

Goose.

hello, Guest.

i dont claim anything but was a part of a band of people..... Kewl. I just hope you end up with terminal cancer, then lets see the outcome. Well, what a jolly nice chap you've turned out to be. For my part, I pray that you don't end up with terminal death :) I know why (again) i left this site. Was it trouble keeping up? Still, you haven't left at all given that you're still here ;) Enjoy the delusion. Your delusion causes me no joy. I would rather you get real, than stroke your "ego" among other things. I, like God, am as real as the nose on your face :) Just send the boss to me.  Idiots i am done with. Ha, ha. Sorry, but I'm not in the position of being able to send God to anyone. Still, it's lucky for the likes of you that I'm a little more tolerant of idiots ;)

Tell murray i still have the photos. First, who is Murray? Second, should he care?
