Good morning, all.

As you know former RCI pastor Drew Dixon and I created the 'Please Consider' website in 2000. It was intended as a repository for informed biblical review and reflection of a broad range of Revivalist doctrines. The website ran for 14 years, and assisted thousands to investigate and question the RCI's, RF's, GRC's and CAI's somewhat 'quirky', but altogether questionable teachings.

Understandably the demise of the website caught many off guard, and led to a number of emails inviting me to 'reconsider Please Consider'!

Acknowledging it's likely there remains an enduring need for information of this sort, I'm presently reviewing the time and expense required to re-create 'Please Consider' in an updated form. My goal would be to present a reduced number of essays addressing the major themes of Revivalist heresy: tongues-necessary-for-salvation; their misrepresentation of Acts 2:38; their deficient position on salvation itself; and the British-Israel fairytale. The essays won't be complex, but they will provide sufficient information and data to verify what I claim.

Finally, I give no assurances the project will get off the ground soon, or that it'll be completed quickly: everything depends on availability of my discretionary time. However, I am committed the eventual website will have a permanent web presence, that it'll be easy to locate and access, and that all the essays will also be available for download in PDF form.

God bless,

Ian

Hi Ian
It's been a while since we touched base, SOTT. :-)Hope all is well with you and yours!
The PleaseConsider website had some great material (I saved a lot of stuff from there back in the day), and although it looks like a fair amount is reproduced here on this forum, I think having a dedicated website would be a good and useful thing, if you can find the time.
Blessings,
 - Dean

G'day, Dean ('M'?).

It has been a while, and it's been a very loooong time since anyone has trotted out my former 'Son-Of-The-Twin' (SOTT) nom de guerre!

All is well with me and mine, and I pray the same is true for you and yours too.

Thanks for your kind assessment of the original 'PleaseConsider' essays. Drew and I attempted to present material that would be useful to people seeking to understand/challenge Revivalist beliefs, and I think in large part we succeeded. However, and with the benefit of a further fifteen-odd years of theological reflection and sophistication, I reckon the essays suffered a bit from unevenness: many were too 'academic'/anaemic, a few were unnecessarily polemical, while others still 'read' too much but 'said' too little.

Several years ago I granted permission for the owner of this forum to include most of the 'PC' material here. Unfortunately, this had the effect of convincing many whom Drew and I sought to reach, that I wasn't as impartial as I had long claimed. After all 'PC' was created with a contra- Revivalist philosophy, whereas this forum is largely perceived (rightly, or wrongly) as having an anti- Revivalist bent.

My goal is to reestablish 'PleaseConsider' in a revised and updated format, and then to ensure it has a permanent web presence. The various essays will be largely rewritten, and they should be more even in style, temperament, format and readability.

That's the plan, anyway ...

God bless,

Ian

Hi Ian, that's me. :-)

Must be getting close to 15 years since the fun times on the old RCI WWW board! Great to see you're still out there offering another (informed) perspective for people wondering about RCI credibility. Good job.

Hey again, brother!

We had plenty of fun back in the day, didn't we? And more than one Revivalist was forced to rethink their mistaken beliefs concerning Roman Catholicism as a part of the journey we took them on :)

I have fond memories of those times.

Pax vobis, my friend.

Ian
