It appears to me that Revivalists families seem to have a much higher incidence of serious illnesses and accidents than the general community judging by the number of miracles reported, or am I just being cynical?

Hi Mole,

Well, Mole, I know from testimonies that God does seem to specialise in fixing bad backs. As far as other miracles are concerned,  I can't say I've witnessed any, although I was told one pastor raised someone from the dead.

I have, however, seen lots of illnesses and accidents at camps.  No miracles, but many emergency trips to the local hospital.  I'm probably just as cynical as you are.

I do remember way back, one fella had a head problem and testified that he had had the required CAT scan and they found nothing there!!!

Hey, Epi.

God the Chiropractor, huh?   Funny, but I always had him "pegged" as being an Osteopath!

Pace tua,

Ian

P.S. We need to talk. Apparently you don't agree with everything that I write! smiley11

Hi Ian,

In nomine Patris, et Fillii, et Spiritus Sancti.

Apologies.  A sin of omission.  Should have read "I don't agree with the brusqueness".

Pax tecum.

Epi

ps   Chiropractor/Osteopath much of a muchness (aren't they?)  Never been to either.  Just remember people often used to testify to a healing on a bad back.  So much so that one pastor commented, after yet another healed back, that God seems to be in the business of healing backs.

I remember hearing from the platform, PSL asking folk to have a think about their healing testamonies are actually miraculous.  After a spate of testamonies like :

I broke my leg and praise the lord the doctors say it will be ok in 4 months, and usually it would take 5 months!  Let's give all the praise back to Jesus!"

or:

" I was feeling sick all time, so i went to the doctor and tests shows that I am diabetic, but I am not going to take the medicine, but trust the lord that he will heal me"

Not exactly miraculous.  I have always wondered how those testamonies sounded to everyone else - especially visitors!
