About respect for other people's views. This is a question for everyone.Imagine you meet an adult who still believes in Santa. He/she tries to argue for his believe, as there is a lot of evidence for Santa's existence, such as that person wrote a letter asking for particular presents and promised to behaveand he did and Santa sent him/her these presents. There is not just a book, there is a tangible evidence. What is your first reaction? What would you do next?

--------------------------------------------------------------
If you attribute all your problems in life to God, and everything what you achieve in life to prayers, then you deprive yourself of a merit and deny yourself a chance of finding true causes of your problems and improving your present life and lives of the people around you.

I would rather live my life as if there is a God, and die to find out there isn"t, than live my life as if there isn"t, and find out there is"

'Worriedmum', hola.

What is your first reaction?

What would you do next?

So do you equate belief in the Christian God with belief in Santa Claus? If so, 'why'?

Blessings,

Ian

You, Christians, are amazing with not answering the questions you don't like.

No I did not equate Christianity with belief in Santa.

How about answering this question now?

Hi, 'WM'.

You, Christians, are amazing with not answering the questions you don't like.

We Christians, huh? Pardon me. In any case, I'm more than happy to answer any question that you may care to ask. However, are you prepared to reciprocate?

No I did not equate Christianity with belief in Santa.

Okay. Funny how I drew that conclusion

How about answering this question now?

Which one? You asked two.

Blessings,

Ian

back to the first question...   adult-belief-santa...

I think a lot of people would just laugh in the person's face.    maybe this is a perfectly acceptable reaction - Santa obviously doesn't exist.

regards to believing in Christianity  - a lot of people would laugh in my  face  when I was a Christian and  trying to  tall 'god/creation/etc'  when leafleting in the UK.

The point being ....is  laughing  at/criticising openlysomeone's  religous belief  an acceptable reaction....  ?

I think so,  why should religion be  treated  any different to politics. why shouldn't  someone's  beliefs  be scruntinized/appraised/criticised in the same  manner a scientist research and theories are being his/her peers ?

Religions recieve  too much privledge.

It"s never too late to leave. Even if yon"ve been in the Assembly a long time.

"Christianity" wasn't designed to be merely a religion. It was designed to be more than a mere religion. It was designed to be a relationship. But the term " Christianity", as it applies in the post modern era, unfortunately  is not really the paradigm we find in our Bibles at all but rather the term "Christianity" has differed significantly from the Biblically preferred term " Kingdom of God " :

" Father, let be held in reverence the name of you, let come the Kingdom of you."

It therefore becomes necessary for us to return to the balanced Word of God, the Bible, because that is the ultimate standard that we become completely accountable to....
