Shirley Temple:

There's something rather unsettling about the venomous inflection in Longfield's voice in the following clip. This is the guy who helped write the Revival version of 'the gospel'.

... do we worry about it? We do NOT! The little Shirley Temple next door, the little girl playing next door to you, nice darling little girl with her Barbie doll... she's not born again. The 'god of love' says to little Shirley Temple, next door, "Unless you are born again, dear little girly, with your curls, you won't inherit my kingdom." That's true isn't it? Is it? That's right. Do we mind? No.

The saddest thing in this prize little snippet is the laughter in the background. Were we there, laughing? I know I was a lot of the time. For every little 'funny' was had at the expense of someone or some religion or some person who decided they'd had enough and left.

How hollow his voice sounds to me now.

Girl Angel Its quite disturbing when you look at the whole scenario of what he is refering to isn't it.

Do these people really believe they're the only true Christians?
Is it their place to judge who is and who isn't saved?
It never sat well with me I must say. In a world fuelled with so much hatred and racial tension, my only hope is that  Crazy people being "witnessed" to can see through it.

As a society, surely people are looking more for ways to help each each other, rather than look down their noses and show such blatant arrogance.

Theres a lot to be said for "blessed are the cheese makers"
I'd rather make cheese all day than sit upon my revival throne and pass judgement!

The influence this man had... it is disturbing.

What gets me is the way he thinks 'god' would speak to the unsaved, or those that he feels don't follow his gospel. The disdain he puts into the words 'with your curls' really is quite telling of the elitism he felt and instilled into his followers. Revivalists may say that the sound bite sounds overly cold, or whatever, as it's not given appropriate context, but there is no favourable light for this picture he's painted of the innocence of the little blonde girl next door who god apparently has such contempt for.

Have listened to a few of Lloyd's taped talks (only heard him once in person) and he always came across with a harsh manner and single-minded approach.  Here he sounds like a madman.

What a powerful influence the man had on people, being able to get away with this kind of fanatical, religious zealotry.  I wonder if this lunacy was followed by "and all the people said."   I would like to think they didn't/wouldn't say "Amen" to that or similar.  Being mentally conditioned, as I, and all were, I'm sure "Amen" was said on cue, as primed.

I recant all the many "Amens" (so be it) I have, over the years, thoughtlessly said in response to similar nonsense statements by misdirected men, many of whom were trained in the Lloyd school of arrogant behaviour.

seems to me like someone is helping himself to buying talks available from RCI bookstore and making them available to listen to online  I am thinking that would be a breach of copyright issue would it not?

They're selling Lloyd's talks at their bookstores still?

Did you paint those fantasy pictures you are using? Have you permission to use them here?

Hi, TJ.

Well, given that Lloyd was happy enough having his talks taped to begin with, why do you think he would object to others making them even more widely available?

Blessings,

Ian

I find it interesting that, since leaving revival, almost every church I have visited presents all of the regular sermons on their website for public distribution. I guess if you believe you're saying a good thing, you would want to make it freely available to as many people as want to hear it.
Revivalists have several websites which contain many talks in mp3 format, but which are accessible only by a secret password, and the need for this is "explained" with regards to copyright (?), like here:
