Not so long ago after I had left RCI a current member of RCI told me that he would no longer speak to me.
Considering that while I had been a member oF RCI he and his family had considered me to be a "caring brother and a friend" this attitude was baffling.

Why not, I asked; because my pastors have told me. What scripture(s) have they shown you to substantiate this attitude? 2 Cor 6:14-18 This passage talks about "be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers...unrighteous...infidel...idols." was his answer.

The brainwashing that is perpetrated by RCI (and other organizations on this forum) is understandable when one considers that while the Bible is claimed to be the source of their belief, yet when it comes down to reality, they most unfortunately choose their traditions (their blind leaders) over the word of God.

Since leaving RCI I am still a believer, preach the gospel in the streets of Melbourne, have gospel meetings.
To the best of my knowledge am not unrighteous, but try every day to manifest the divine nature of God (fruits of the spirit) 2Peter1:4.

Well being an infidel...had to look in the dictionary "unbeliever in esp. the supposed true religion".
I am still Spirit filled, pray every day, witness as often as the opportunity presents itself, and my testimony as well as my family I believe the Lord is happy with.

Idol(s) well up to this moment I have not lorded over the flock like your leaders do. In RCI there has been and still is a subtle form of idolatry shown towards past and present pastors...

Well I welcome a reply from any current RCI members explaining how or why anyone that leaves RCI and continuous to follow Christ, considered such a nasty piece of work. Have the courage and freedom that Christ has given you through the shedding of his blood to voice your views.

Hi, Stripes.

Just out of personal interest, what is the nature of the "gospel" that you preach? Is it the same one Revivalists promote? I ask this because in this, and in previous threads, you've used the words "Spirit-Filled" to imply "tongues"-speaker, and so I'm wondering whether you still support their "salvation message".

Blessings,

Ian

Good morning, Stripes.

First, thank you for replying to my questions. Your response has given me a few more, if that's okay?

The nature of the gospel I preach is better explained in Mark 1:1 " The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God". Further identified in vs 14 " ...Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the Kingdom of God". Thats what I preach.

Okay, but I'm sure you'd admit that such is a fairly 'vague' summary? After all, it took Mark a further 15 chapters to "spell it out", as it were
Surprised

Yes I use the word "Spirit filled" as much as I use the words "Born Again".

Sure. But "born again" implies something that's fully inclusive and biblical. The term "Spirit-Filled" tends towards being far more exclusive, the inference of which is actually unbiblical. Me? I'm interested in learning what you believe to be intended by both terms.

You have "implied" and I like to clear it for you. I do speak in  tongues, as well as exercise all the other manifestations of the Spirit. (When the occasion arises)

Really?! All the manifestations of the Spirit? You do understand, don't you, that such a claim is actually impossible, that Paul made it quite plain in 1 Corinthians 12 through 14 that the Holy Spirit imparts different gift(s) to different Christians (hence the "body" analogy)? That no one Christian can have all the "gifts", just as no Christian is completely lacking in spiritual gifting.

Do I believe (as RCI preaches) that you must speak in tongues to be saved. NO.  This is what I believe: "Verily verily, I say unto  thee, Except a man be born again of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom  of God".

Sure. And precisely what do you understand to be the meaning of, "born of water and Spirit"?

Receiving the Holy Spirit or being Born Again is only the beginning.

Agreed. But do you believe that "tongues" accompanies or equals being "born of Spirit"?

Rom 8:14 "For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons/daughters of  God" 1 Cor.13:1 - 3 (Read it at your leasure) Without love Iam nothing.

1 Corinthians 13 is one of my favourite chapters of Scripture.

Above and beyond all this and more, God will have the last word on anything.

Well ... he has. God's "last word" is to be found in Scripture.

Looking forward to hearing your answers.

Blessings,

Ian

Hi Ian,
I have no intention of spending my valuable time on a near futile marathon exercise of answering your questions. However I will be very happy to meet with you personally, in the spirit of meekness, in a public venue to debate (not argue) any aspect of the word of God, inviting all those that access this forum and anyone else to came along. I surrender to you the task of making this happen, presuming you are happy to meet with me.
The venue can be a place geographically acceptable to both. I look forward to you accepting my invitation.

P.S. In your reply to me... "Really?! ... you said it is IMPOSSIBLE"  Mark 9:23 "Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth."

To any menber of RCI,
Sorry for the temporary distraction, but the question still remains unanswerd...
Will anyone explain why you will not talk to anyone that has left RCI?
