I have relished the fact that I can go and fellowship at another church for a day. If I have friends that fellowship somewhere other that the denomination that I attend - I am free to go and visit! No guilt or anything. I can even tell my minister about it and there is no problem at all. It is just normal as can be! That is sooooo cool! I can experience AOG, Baptist, Roman Catholic ( not that I have done that yet - but want to ) Church of Christ ( I turned up with my guitar at a CoC service and they put me in their band ASAP.) I love my freedom in Christ! The people that I meet at other churches have so much to offer as a different perspective, and they are always so inviting and friendly. When I go camping I just turn up at the local church in that town, and it is OK! No explaining to do, no guilt trips. The broader church community is the best, and I am loving it! Have any of you guys or gals noticed how free you can be? Have you had great meetings/services at different denominations? This is something that was not even to be considered at RCI, you would be ex-communicated! Cos we are all one body of believers - we, the people, ARE the church! It is my (humble) view that the less we see of 'separation' and the more we see of 'integration' or 'good relations' will help us to understand each other. Yes, the different denominations all have their own little 'quirks' (and none are 100% quirkless) but when we see past these differences and just LOVE one another (as we're meant to do) we have a better understanding of our place in the kingdom. But according to what you stated, above, we (Christian believers, I presume) are already "one body of believers". This being the case, how then, could we not "understand each other"? Does this comment relate to beliefs? Or practices? Or both? And what stage or level of "quirkiness" in a church should cause one to become alarmed? So "love" is sufficient to see past what are often substantial (and substantive) differences? This being the case, where does the issue of "truth" get a look in? Curiouser and curiouser. Me I have visited many churches and denomiations over the last 12 years since leaving revers, and i Love it, i love the differences etc but i love the way we can all fellowship together as we have the same cause and that is to preach Christ and him crucified. I love the different styles etc that i come across in worship preaching etc and i have learnt that because it is not my flavour dosent make it wrong, i can just enjoy it for where they are at and what God is calling them to do in there part of the body and community. We ARE all one body just many parts, and i love that and i love the freedom to enjoy that. No doubt. But might I ask, just how would you assess whether or not what "they" do is "right" or "wrong" to begin with? What "measure" informs your judgments? We ARE all one body just many parts, and i love that and i love the freedom to enjoy that. "We"? Again, how do you reach the conclusion that such are "tenants in the vineyard", so to speak? Only God knows which members are really "born again' Christians". In the organized church there are people who seem to be Christians (leaders as well), who are not renewed in heart and will be exposed and rejected at the judgement. (2: Tim. 2:19; Matt. 7:15; 13:24-30, 36-43, 47-50; 25: 1-46). brolga -------------------------------------------------------------- Who said it could not be done? And tell me what great victories does he have to his credit which qualifies him to judge others accurately?
