Don't sweat it Summer, the regular postings have died down to a crawl in the GRC forum room this year, and it can be very difficult to establish rapport even when a forum is busy and has heaps of members. Being part of the 'gang' happens in due course, and I know the feeling well. I've felt it in other forums, but it's natural. People read and nod with you but don't always type their 'nod'.

The thread that was deleted recently was most probably due to that jerk who was mouthing off at Brolgs. Don't take it personally...

Take care.

Peter Age 35 and dammit... will be aged 36 next week. I'm supposed to be rich and have a house by aged 35...grrr.. .so much for five year plans.

Must echo moth's sentiment there, Summer. Don't jump to conclusions or burn any bridges. There are times and season's here too you know! Personally, I was RCI/RF so I don't tend to participate in the GRC much.

Anyway, I'm sure its not about you, just that things haven't quite connected yet. Doesn't mean there aren't lots of potential posts yet to come!

Perhaps look more into other rooms besides the GRC room and get to know us and help us to get to know you. What's on your mind at this particular point in your life?

Cheers!

Dog. (one of the gang, but only because I've gas-bagged too much)!

PS maybe come and have a casual chat in the shout box sometime?!

Not at all. Insecurity is normal. overly secure people are assholes haha...

the shoutbox is easy to use, sometimes someone will be there other times just leave a message and others will reply in due course. Immediacy isn't for forums usually.

Reply to : summerw Hi Summer, gosh don't give up yet. Sometimes I put a new topic in the Forum or add to an existing post and it seems to be the "kiss of death". No-one adds to the existing post anymore or no-one adds to the new topic.

Both Moth and Dogmafree have given sound advice and they are both "elders" when it comes to quality and quantity on the Forum.

Have to agree with Moth on the deleted topic, it developed into a bun fight and became pretty nasty. Personal insults, accusations and all that stuff. Happens sometimes and is a pain because your original topic is wiped. It has happened to me a couple of times. Before your post was wiped, it certainly had a lot of people look at it.

Sometimes the Forum is very slow and sometimes amazing things come out. The thing is to participate and read heaps of topics. I am guilty of not going into the other sites very often and tend to concentrate on the GRC site. I think a lot of exGRCers do this as well.

As Moth says (very wise man sometimes)we are sometimes guilty of reading and agreeing with posts and not contributing anything to keep them going.

If you post your story in the GRC site, I am sure that you will have a bigger response to it. It will get around to all the Assemblies very quickly.

Hang in there kid. You will make a difference and your contribution and opinion IS valued.

Cheers,

Glad

Hi summerw,

I read your post after having been away for couple weeks and I've only been checking  on the RF section of the forum occasionally.  Please try not to feel rejected - sometimes people take a little while to reply to the posts.

I read your story today and it touched my heart - you are a brave lady to tell it so openly and honestly.  I would like to encourage you to not blame God for what happened, however the organisation itself and the man who was responsible are most certainly to blame  - they will be held accountable for their actions by God and will have to answer to Him one day at the end of their lives.  You are a beautiful young lady and I am inspired by the way you have handled your life and walked away from this cult and wish you all the best in the future.  Please keep in touch on the forum - it is exciting hearing of people's journeys as they travel forward on the journey of life. You are also most welcome to email me if you wish to talk privately at any time - no strings attached.

I hope we will hear from you again,

Love from Urchin x x

Everyone feels lonely and rejected often.

Let's all be lonely together. Alone asleep at night, worrying about how you're going to pay the next bill... worrying if your freinds will still be by your side in twenty years.

My true online friends will be around for a while. I've even met up with people I've chatted to with online and had coffee.

We're never alone unless we feel we're unwanted. God can fill that hole for you if you wish him to, but it's a pity he can't give you a phone call to check up on you and talk about the latest Harry Potter movie... or just pop over for a quick hug.

When you're lonely know that someday sometime you will get a phone call from a real person and hopefully a hug too.

Ain't life grand?
