Hi all,?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comThought it was about time I introduced myself. I left RC basically due to 2 recent catalyst events this year. The first was verbal and emotional abuse primarily from a couple of RC people, who were so legalistic and dogmatic in their requirements of me, that I knew that something wasn't right at all. The second was a chance encounter with a former member of RC while I was with some other RC people. Believing the RC rule that you were not to have fellowship with former members (so-called "backsliders") I refused to engage in any conversation with that person. Several days later, I was so guilty about not even saying hello to them, I felt totally and utterly ashamed of myself ... another instance of something not feeling right. It was then that I started mysearch for the truthandcame across this site.I also prayed to the Lordfor guidance and forgiveness for my "shunning" sin.The decision to leave was obviously not an easy one, having been involved for manyyears, but now that I know the truth, it has been a bit easier. During my Internet searches, I came across a lot of good articles and papers about the errors and counterfeit gifts of Pentecostalism. SometimesI feel a bit stupid for not having the fortitude to question my revivalist beliefs a lot earlier. At this point in time, I remain a committed Christian, but not looking to dive back into another Church just yet.My work colleagues have been very understanding, but I know the healing process will take time, but I'm looking forward to a complete recovery with many exciting times and challenges to conquer aheadCheersBCB

A grand move there BCB!

A lot of learning and discovery is ahead of you (after being in that insular organisation for 20 years) now that you have made the break. Wishing you all strength as you find your feet!

Yeah, intelligence is irrespective, and we all can fall victim to the delusions of revivalism. Thank God(?) we have seen ourselves freed from it.

Cheers!
