Hi
I'm not an ex member but am now the partner of one (who left GRC recently). I wanted to come
along here and read, and join to learn more about the GRC so I can
understand and support my partner better.
Also wanted to join, as an "evil outsider" to try and reassure those unsure,
that outsiders aren't evil. I bet you'd find most outsiders are supportive and caring.
If i can be of help
by sharing my views please ask me anything.
I was christened an Anglican, went to an Anglican church, Catholic
schools and a Lutheran church. I used to have a very strong faith but
currently am unsure where I stand (i believe denomination doesn't matter - all
that matters is your personal relationship with god if that is what you
believe). But i do know that I believe God is about LOVE. Love means
acceptance and forgiveness, compassion and nurturing. Family is the
most important thing in life, along with ones faith. God gave us life didn't he?
Isn't life a gift? Shouldn't we enjoy it? Why would God go to all that
effort to create such a beautiful world to have use spend all our time
feeling shame and guilt, unable to appreciate what we have been given
(unable to make our own decisions, live where we want, marry someone we
truly love, and support our elderly parents who raised us)? Whats more
- doesn't the bible teach that man is flawed and imperfect? Perfection
is found only in God. Hence why we follow GOD - NOT THE PASTOR!!!
Please accept my best wishes to everyone
who has managed to escape, and to those who have not. I hope you may
all find true happiness.
