Just thought I'd post this on here for anyone who may of had anything to do with him that Des Long passed away and his funeral was today.  Des Long was the father of Pastor Richard Long and husband of Nancy Long.

Thanks for that, do you know what he died from was it old age or just the fact he didn't get healed by the almighty God?

Do you know if his son was able to make it over for the funeral?

He was already in Geelong as his son was meant to be getting married but that got cancelled after he arrived so he got a free holiday.  Richard Long gave the word the day his dad died and showed no real emotion about it and said the family are all fine.

As nice and lovely as I thought Richard Long was, this makes me sick that a son could lose his father and still go to that GRC and stand up there and give a talk. For goodness sake are these people made of stone, I am sick to the guts of these self righteous do gooders serving Noel not God and their own families dont even rate. Hey we fly all the way over from Cali for a "fleshy" occasion but wont show some respect to dad and stay home at least one or two days and actually do something we call mourning. Pathetic. They say they are there to serve God and save souls, what a load of crap its all about NHHollins and no one else, because God would expect us to mourn over our loved ones.

Forgot to add to that last post of mine that Noel got up the front at Norlane and shed a tear for Teddy the dog. Quote words of Noel: "If there is a heaven for dogs Teddy will be up there." Was anyone there when Teddy received and got baptised, I think not, well I certainly wasnt!!

I remember Des Long as a geniune fellow. Condolences to his wife, Nancy, and his family. Its a pity that his death and funeral was kept a secret from everyone outside the GRC. Still can't understand the reasoning for this stance of keeping deaths and funerals a secret.  I hadn't had contact with Des for quite a number of years so I am unaware if he had an illness, but who cares if he died of an illness or old age as we all know that he was a geniune fellow and not just another bigoted GRC inbred. I'm sure that even though he was in a misguided Church group, God will forgive him and accept him into his kingdom.

P.S. I think we should start up a posting listing all the deaths of people in the GRC. Names, date of death, reason, such as natural/illness, and place of burial. We should do this to not only "piss off" Noel, but to make him realise the futility of keeping deaths out of the papers and denying others the opportunity of attending their funeral,

Guest, I think that there was a list posted by motmot somewhere on the forum that listed the deaths and the causes.
It also brought the Sydney Assembly into the equation as well.

Cheers,
Glad

You really are a nasty piece of work aren't you? Is it just the GRC that has made you so bitter and twisted?

I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Des Long, as he was visiting overseas. I was pretty young then, but I do remember him and his wife to be sincerely nice people. Although I really have no feeling for the GRC left (after being gone for many many years) there were and still are some people that I honestly will miss. Des Long was one of them.
