Hi, Saiyth.
The thing is, there is no acronym at all for the non-qualification of "Marriage Celebrant". M.C., however, is the post nominal for the award of "Military Cross". If what you suggest was the case, and I'm far from being convinced that it is, then it would be a little like me appending V.C. to my name intending for it to be read as, Major I. Thomason, "Very Cute". The average person would immediately think, Major I. Thomason recipient of the "Victoria Cross"! Whilst the former meaning would certainly be true enough, the latter one, which is the correct meaning, wouldn't be.
