Dear Assembly,
This message is written to inform you that due to recent events, I am officially resigning from being General Overseer of Christian Assemblies International.
Over the last couple of weeks there have been four counsellors meetings amongst the Australian counsellors and on Saturday another one where the European and Canadian counsellors were linked in via telephone. Unfortunately there is disunity amongst the counsellors, as some counsellors are demanding that I resign and suggesting that I move out of the PHQ. Some would also desire that an investigation is carried out to examine my personal sin, whereas the other half of the counsellors think that these points are completely unnecessary and unscriptural.
I am saddened that some of the counsellors advising this have hardly ever been in touch with me in order to find out about my spiritual walk or to counsel and advise me.
The opinions amongst the counsellors are so fundamentally different that they could not be dissolved within many, many hours of talks and the situation has come to a stale mate, as both camps within the counsellors are insisting on their views. It must also be said that some of the counsellors have forgotten that the original intention of their role was to advise/counsel the overseer and that they have no authority to act as “judge and jury” over my actions. Therefore while the intention of having counsellors was to protect the work, sadly it has also shown itself to also be a danger to the assembly. As I was the one who after prayer instigated the group of counsellors, I am now also the one who will dissolve the counsellor group so that they no longer continue.
Should you hear anything negative from any of the counsellors (George, Lars, Drew, Mark, Sebastian, Benny and Hawky) they are exposing themselves as murmurers, which will not be tolerated.
For the sake of unity and protecting the assembly I am therefore resigning officially. After discussing matters with my close senior officers it was decided that it is impossible to comply with the other demands raised by some counsellors to move out of the PHQ, as the Assembly depends on the money we receive from renting out the apartments in the Pacific Towers and it would be unwise to lose out on this.
Pastor Michy now assumes full responsibility as General Overseer under the former system and will work together with the KG and RG.
